Great lecture – really, seems like any chemical, metal clostridia or oxalates can gum up the whole system!

Is glyphosate an organophosphate- and are paroxanase and EPSP synthase related or involved in the shikamate pathway?

Seems like I heard that shikamate pathway involved when paroxanase gummed up- leading to things like autism or Parkinson’s (but linked to methylation).

Shikamate pathway also seems involved with EPSP synthase- messing with tyrosine, phenalanine and tryptophan, and again, leading to things like autism and Parkinson’s.

Or maybe I just have my shikamate pathway misplaced – or maybe pomegranate is good to get both paroxanase and EPSP synthase going again.
    Thank you,
    Teri

    Teri,
Thanks. I am glad you liked the lecture.

I agree with you. Even though I am presenting things in a singular fashion such chemicals, then glyphosate, then metals, etc., we both know that many people with chronic health issues are dealing with multiple factors. Therefore, gumming up their system is exactly right!

Yes. It is termed an organophosphate because of its chemical structure linked to carbon and phosphorus. However, it is not the exact same thing and others argue against referring to it as a true organophosphate like Chlorpyrifos. It does not have the same neurotoxicity affects like other organophosphates though such as inhibition of acetylcholinesterase. So, it is not exactly like most organophosphates we think of as being insecticides. Therefore, I am unsure of PONs activity on it or the usefulness of pomegranate. However, pomegranate likely could not hurt and many people exposed to high levels of glyphosate often have high “true” organophosate exposure too.

The Shikimate pathways is definitely linked to tyrosine, phenylalanine, and tryptophan.

Personally, I would lump glyphosate in with other environmental herbicides and pesticides, at least as far as supporting detox. I like the idea of pomegranate too.

    I hope this helps.
