I’ve been told DD washes hair samples. Is this accurate? If it is, then how can the results be accurate especially if looking at potassium and sodium levels?

    Terri,
There are so many contaminants that people use from shampoos, hair dyes, etc. that a lab like Doctors Data needs to do some washing to get accurate results. Here is their information page on Hair Testing – https://www.doctorsdata.com/hair-elements/. A hair analysis is a screening assessment and in my experience does a good job at analyzing certain minerals like Manganese, Zinc, Lithium, Selenium and Sulfur. I wouldn’t sole rely on it for Sodium and Potassium levels compared to blood.
