    Hi Dr Woeller,

I remember you mentioning something about Glyphosate being a possible contributor to oxalate build up in the body, because of the glycine content.

Will supplements that contain glycine, such as DMG, TMG, Magnesium Glycinate, or protein/amino acid supplements also contribute to Oxalate build up, or is that a totally different process than what glyphosate does?

    Michael,
They could. This would likely occur more in the presence of a Vitamin B6 deficiency.

I don’t think these are significant contributors compared to diet and mold/yeast contributions to oxalate values. If people are taking modest amounts they are likely fine. Similar to ascorbic acid in modest amounts. But, if someone is mega-dosing glycine in huge numbers, e.g. multiple gram amounts over an extended period of time this might be an issue.

    Hi Dr Woeller,

I see. I tend to supplement with large amounts of vitamin C and magnesium glycinate. However, B6 is always supplemented in orthomolecular amounts as well.

Most of the people I work with are odiously deficient in C and Mg, and b-vitamins, and they also tend to have concurrently high oxalates as well.

I will keep this in mind and look for it on follow up testing…

    Michael,
Most peoples issues with oxalates are coming from their diet. I would put yeast/mold contributions second on the list.
